Goes without saying that you like to listen to the car radio while driving. For easily listening to the radio a good reception via your car aerial, also called a car antenna, is essential. To ensure high audio quality we offer different types of car aerials. The 16V antenna is called the ´classic whip´. These days different variants of the 16v car aerial are available. Although the long car whips still exist, so-called short stick or retractable antennas are also available. In general, just as the name implies, a short stick is a short antenna. These are often just a few centimetres in length and therefore way more stylish than the in general 40 centimetres long classic car whips. In addition to the classical car whip and short stick antenna, there?s also the shark fin aerial. These look slightly more classic and less notable than a stick. For good reception, you no longer need a long antenna on your car. Do you want to go for a stylish look? Then you can also opt for a nice colour. At Winparts you can choose from different colours such as red, chrome, blue or a white antenna.
Replacing a car aerial
Does your current car radio aerial no longer works to your satisfaction or do you want to go for a different look? Then it's time to replace your car aerial. This is a job that you can easily and quickly do yourself. Certainly not worth the trip to your local garage. Simply order the product that you want at Winparts. Received them? Then unscrew the current antenna from the roof of your car. Leave the base as it is. You can then simply screw the antenna or short stick back onto the base. Please do pay attention to the correct size though. Some only fit cars with an M5 or M6 thread size.
Prefer a shark fin for your car instead? First, screw the current car radio aerial from your car and screw the end pole of the shark fin on the stand. Then check whether your car radio has good reception. Before installing the shark fin, we recommend that you first thoroughly clean the roof around the antenna. This way you prevent possible scratches and other damage to the paintwork. Place the shark fin on the base and carefully check if the shark fin is properly fixed in line with the lining of your car. Is it properly aligned and does your radio have good reception? Press the shark fin firmly for about a minute.
DAB car aerial
DAB and especially DAB+ is the successor to FM. With a DAB car aerial you can receive far more radio stations than with FM. In addition, the audio is of far higher quality, without any crackling noises. With this antenna, you can receive both digital channels and FM channels over the air for free. With DAB you can find the radio stations by alphabet instead of by frequency. To receive DAB+ you need a DAB car antenna, of which we offer a wide assortment at Winparts.
