About Winparts

Winparts, your trusted car parts specialist, is based in the north of the Netherlands, in the village of Winneweer, Groningen. In fact, the name "Winparts" is inspired by “Winneweer” (Win) and “car parts” (Parts). The company was founded in 2005 by the van Essen brothers, Ari and Meinard, building on their passion for car parts that dates back to 1986.

The story began with their first venture, D-Parts, in Groningen, where they sold second-hand BMW car parts. This idea stemmed from their own experience with a broken-down BMW E12. Struggling to find a replacement gearbox, they purchased a donor car, salvaged the part they needed, and sold the remaining parts to other BMW owners. This sparked their passion and expertise for car parts. In 1987, D-Parts relocated to Winneweer, expanding into a warehouse of over 10,000m².

From D-Parts to Winparts

As the business grew, their inventory transitioned from just used parts to include new ones. While early attempts to sell parts for other car brands through “Allparts” in 2001 were short-lived, the brothers learned from this experience. By 2005, the time was right, and they went all in with a website selling parts for nearly every car brand – and Winparts was born. It quickly grew in popularity, and in 2008, a new and upgraded website was launched.

After succeeding in the Netherlands, Winparts expanded into Belgium in 2009, launching a dedicated Belgian website in 2012. The momentum continued with entry into the Swedish market in 2016 via Winparts.se. Most recently, in 2024/2025, Winparts extended its reach to Wallonia and France, further expanding its international footprint.
