Brake shoe assembly

The brake shoe holds the brake linings and pushes them against the outer drum when braking. Drum brakes are mainly found on older vehicles. On modern cars, they are only found on the rear axle, with a disc brake system on the front axle. The brake lining wears out the fastest and can be replaced separately by an experienced mechanic. Usually, the entire drum brake is replaced. For safety and even wear, you will want to replace all brake shoes at the same time.

Brake shoe assembly should be carried out by an experienced mechanic. They can adjust the brakes correctly to ensure optimal performance. You can save on labour costs by purchasing a good pair of brake shoes and assembly materials yourself. Depending on your car, the fitting materials consist of clips to secure the brake shoes and springs to adjust them. You'll find all of these here in our extensive range.

When replacing, first allow the brake fluid to drain. You will then need to replace this and bleed the braking system. The required fitting materials vary greatly depending on the make, model and year of manufacture. Therefore, please enter your registration number to see a list of all applicable parts.
