Ball coupling

A tow bar provides a secure and stable connection between a trailer and the towing vehicle. The tow ball, which slots into a corresponding tow coupling, creates a rotating and flexible connection. Winparts offers a wide range of tow bars in various materials and sizes.

A tow bar, also known as a tow hitch or coupling, consists of a spherical ball and a matching coupling. The ball is usually mounted on the tow bar of the vehicle, while the coupling is attached to the drawbar of the trailer. When the coupling is slid over the ball, it clicks into place, creating a secure connection. This coupling allows the trailer to turn and move without detaching from the vehicle.

The use of a tow bar is a legal requirement in many countries for safely towing a trailer. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions and ensure that the coupling complies with local regulations.

Ball coupling buying guide

There are several factors to consider when purchasing a tow bar:

Towing Capacity: Check the maximum towing capacity of the tow bar. This should correspond to the weight of your trailer and the load you intend to transport.

Ball Size: The most common ball size is 50 mm, but other sizes are available. Make sure the size of the ball matches the coupling of your trailer.

Material: Tow bars are often made of steel for strength and durability. Ensure that the coupling is rust-resistant for a longer lifespan.
